FURTHER:

We are all aware of the damage and hurt happening all around us. Even we ourselves unknowingly limit the joy and happiness of others, which in turn affects the joy and happiness in our own lives. This happens because we lack the right attitude and "skills" of love.

A harvest of souls will require us to really love on others, especially strangers, as we are the loving arms of God. The Lord has called us at this time to help strengthen the church in this supremely important area of love.

Our purpose can best be seen in light of Jesus' words: "These things I have spoken to you that my joy may remain in you, and that your joy may be full. This is my commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you" (John 15:11–12).

Our purpose is to teach and inspire others to love God and love each other in Jesus' way, so that others will be filled with His joy.  Nothing pleases the Lord more than this.

GOD WANTS US FULL OF JOY
through loving Him and loving each other.

Love is the most important value to God.
It is the greatest of the Commandments and is the "fulfillment of the law" (Romans 13:10). God is love (1 John 4:8).

God's purpose of salvation is to have eternal fellowship with those believers who love Jesus' way.  Just as the Lord, "sought for Himself, a man after His own heart" (1 Samuel 13:14), God desires the same of us for fellowship.

God's love creates joy and happiness. He made you in His image and He wants you to also create joy and happiness.
There is a long list of physical, emotional, and spiritual needs which Jesus cared about two thousand years ago and He cares about today. These needs are in the lives of the people closest to you, in the church, and everywhere. Jesus desires us to love as He does so as to create joy in lives presently and eternally. By so doing, we fulfill His desire and purpose for our lives.

In Paul's letter to the Philippians he prayed, “That your love may abound still more and more in knowledge” (Phil 1:9). And in his letter to the Thessalonians he prayed, “And may the Lord make you increase and abound in love to one another and to all, just as we do to you” (1 Thess 3:12).

Your love makes a significant difference:

When we abound in love, we give the most beautiful and precious of gifts to our significant other, our parents, our children, our friends, and others. They will discover a joy and happiness they may never have experienced before--and so will we.

We make a difference when we increase in the knowledge and "skills" of love because we reduce the level of hurt, suffering, neglect, loneliness, divorce, depression, and suicides in our world. Love changes lives and is greatly pleasing to God.

Our love makes a difference by strengthening our faith, our relationships, our families, our encounters with strangers, our congregations, the body of Christ, and it brings joy and happiness to a hurting world. When we abound in love we make a significant difference to others, and also, to ourselves.

Our goal is to promote a focus on both loving God and loving others--not one without the other.
